Luedke
Virginia "Punkie" Jane Luedke of El Paso Texas, passed away on June 22, 2012. She went peacefully in her sleep.
Virginia was born on April 8, 1933 in Deming, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Martin and Dorothy Wehmhoner, and sister to Charles Wehmhoner and Linda Enis Franklin.
Virginia graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in music. She married Bruce Luedke, and spent the next forty years, touring the world, as a Marine Officers' wife. They enjoyed living in Japan, Washington D.C., California, Panama and many other locals where she entertained ambassadors, dignitaries, and heads of state.
Virginia moved back to the southwest from Florida in 1998 to be near her family.
She is survived by her children Valerie, Victoria and Scott, their spouses and her five granddaughters. She is also survived by her brother and sister in law Frankye and their children, her sister and her husband Tom, her sister in law Geraldine Newcomer and her five children.
A service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Deming, New Mexico at 2 p.m., on Sunday, July 1, 2012, to be followed by internment at Arlington National Cemetery along side her husband.
