Frank Chiprich, 92, resident of Deming passed away Friday May 16, 2014 at the Advanced Care Hospital of Southern New Mexico in Las Cruces. A memorial service was Tuesday May 20th, at 6 o'clock in the evening at the D.A.V. Hall, 300 S. Diamond Street in Deming. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery. Frank was born March 25, 1922 in Donora, Pennsylvania to Stephen and Mary Kemac Chiprich. Frank served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WW II and upon his return he went to work with U.S. Steel Corporation and was an ironworker in Pennsylvania until his retirement. He has been a resident of Deming since 1984 having moved here from Trenton, New Jersey. Locally Frank was a member of the D.A.V., American Legion, V.F.W., the Historic Landmark Commision, the Mimbres-Paquime Connection and was very involved with Holy Family Catholic Church. He also enjoyed landscaping around his home and staying in touch with all his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Chiprich of Deming; sons, Frank C. Chiprich (Eileen) and Gerald W. Chiprich (Carol) all of Monongahela, Pennsylvania, and Gregory S. Chiprich (Lorraine) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his sister Gwendolyn and her husband Skip of Richmond, VA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
