Olin J Offutt, 91, a longtime Deming resident passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his home.

Visitation will be this Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 12 to 2 at Baca's Funeral Chapel where funeral services will begin at 2 o'clock with Tom Simmons officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt.
Olin was born February 11, 1921 in Hillsboro, Texas to Doyal D. and Muriel
(Hendricks) Offutt. He moved to Deming when he was 9 years old and later farmed north of town for over 70 years. He also worked for the New Mexico State Highway Department for some time and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a longtime member of the NRA. Olin was a member of the Luna County Cotton Ginners Association and served on the board of directors for 25 years.
He is survived by 4 children, Diana Arrington and her husband Don of Silver City, Ted Offutt and his wife Janet of Deming, Joan Little Hays and her husband Charlie of Swiss Home, OR, and Nita Offutt-Stinson of Deming; 1 sister, Mamie Rackley of El Paso, 1 brother, Arles Offutt of Deming; sister in law, Tean Daniels of Deming; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and their families and an abundance of friends. Olin was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth J.
Offutt, his parents, 1 brother, Theodore Offutt and 2 grandchildren, Donna Jean Arrington and Baby Arrington.
Pallbearers will be Randy Arrington, Sean Brown, Devon Stinson, Tracy Offutt, Paul Offutt, and Robert Offutt. Honorary bearers are Terry Brown, Eddie Diaz, Johnny Mack Simmons, and Brian Arrington.
