Bertoni, Alessandro  
Bertoni, Alessandro MD "Alex" "Sandro" Fairport: Feb. 20, 2015, age 87. Survived by his beloved wife of 60 yrs. Elizabeth, his children Guido (Jannette) Bertoni, Mario Bertoni of FL, granddaughter Alessia Bertoni, and his sister Ada Colzani of Italy. Alessandro was born in Faenza a small city in northern Italy and attended the liceo classic humanist education in high school subjects in Ravenna. He entered the University of Bologna Medical School, the oldest university in the world, graduating in 1952 with a doctor of medicine. After his post graduate work at the university, Doctor Bertoni was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Saint John's Long Island City Hospital in New York. While working at Saint John's Dr. Bertoni met his wife Elizabeth, a pharmacist at the hospital. They married within the year and left for a honeymoon in Italy. Dr. Bertoni applied for medical residency in the United States and was accepted at Highland Hospital in Rochester. Dr. Bertoni opened a practice in the City of Rochester and after several years opened another office in Gates. He had a long standing affiliation and privileges with Park Ridge Hospital and Rochester General Hospital before retiring in 1994. Throughout his professional life Dr. Bertoni was involved in many organizations including NASL Rochester Lancers and the Sports Car Club of America Finger Lakes as their race physician which included Watkins Glen Gran Prix racing. He also helped establish the Casa Italiana at Nazareth College and was a radio announcer in Italian language and music programming. Among his many contributions to medicine it is noteworthy to know that Dr. Bertoni's involvement in The New York State Academy of Family Physicians substantially contributed toward the development of the American Board of Family Medicine which has elevated the quality of our family practice physicians in the United States through board certification. After decades of commitment to the advancement of family medicine, in 1996 Dr. Bertoni was elected to serve as President of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians. At Dr. Bertoni's request the funeral services and entombment were private. Bruman, Beverly Ann  
Bruman, Beverly Ann Cary, NC: Age 83, formerly of Henrietta, NY, passed away peacefully, February 27, 2015. Beverly was born March 15, 1931 to the late George & Eva Kellogg Lane. She was a long-time resident of Henrietta, NY and relocated to North Carolina after retiring from an administrative career with the Rush-Henrietta school district. Beverly was a loving wife, mother and friend, who will be dearly missed. Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Francis Bruman. She is survived by her children, David Bruman, Michael Bruman, Karen Acker (Tom), Steve Bruman (Tom Ambler); her grandsons, Coleman Bruman (Ashley) and Timothy Acker; great-grandchildren, Ava and Grant Bruman. Burbank, Janice E. Brighton: February 21, 2015. Predeceased by her husband, Paul M. Burbank, DMD. She is survived by her daughters, Ann P. Burbank (Thomas W. McKeehan), Derry Burbank (William Farmer), Sue Thatcher Burbank Williams (RDML, Richard, USN); son, Paul Whittaker "Whit" (Diane) Burbank, Esq.; grandchildren, William Beardsley Conderman (Jeanette), Hillary Ann Stoffel (Christopher), Lindsay and Meagan Farmer, Heather Lynn Williams Petrie (Karl), Carrie Leigh Williams, Richard Lee Williams III, Kristin Whiteford Burbank, Jeffrey Maxfield Burbank, Troy Whittaker Burbank; great-grandchildren, Reid, Harrison and Henry; sister, Barbara Evans; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Jan enjoyed her family most of all, but also had a multitude of friends. She loved to travel the world and be by the water. She shared with her family many memories in Chatham, Nantucket and Florida. She was a member of Oak Hill Country Club. She also loved bridge, theatre, musicals and the RPO. She graduated from Simmons College School of Business and was active and volunteered for many organizations, including the Century Club, the Retired Professionals, AAUW, 12 Corners Presbyterian Church, the Twig organization, Rochester Museum and Science Center and the George Eastman House. She will be missed by all. Friends may call 2-4, 7-9 PM on Friday, March 6 at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.) Friends are invited to bring a written memory or photo for the family's Memory Book. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 7 at Twelve Corners Presbyterian Church, 1200 Winton Rd. South. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of your choice.
