Jack was a combat veteran of World War II with the 34th Infantry Division serving in the British Isles, North Africa and Italy. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Five Battle Stars and received a battle field promotion to Captain with the 133rd Regiment. One of the highlights of his service was the time he spent guiding the then General Dwight Eisenhower across the roads of Tunisia North Africa in 1943.
