Vahue, Mary E. (DeMay) Rochester: Dec. 13, 2014. Predeceased by her husband, Charles; and nephew, Timothy Vahue. Survived by her children, Ronald (Julie Clarke) Vahue, Marsha Dillon, Mark (Maureen) Vahue & Judy (Bill Pulver) Cheng; granddaughter, Alicia Cheng-Aponte & great-grandson, Cesar Samir Aponte, who shared a very special place in Mary's life; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many, many Vahue & DeMay nieces & nephews. Friends may attend a Memorial Mass 9:00 AM Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Vahue, Richard J.  
Vahue, Richard J. Rochester: Passed peacefully, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at age 73. He is survived by his sisters, Doris McCann, Katie Cole, Betty Vahue, Margaret Vahue; brothers, Edward, James, William, Bernie, and other extended family members. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 27th, from 3-5 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., where a Memorial Service with full Military Honors will follow calling at 5 PM. Vallone, Lewis A.  
Vallone, Lewis A. Irondequoit: Passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the age of 76. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Nina Vallone. Lewis is survived by his children, Paul (Heather) Vallone, Kristin Christodulu and Karalee Mazzaferro; grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor and Jeffrey, sister, Kathleen Friedman. Lewis was a member of the Monroe County Bar Association for over 50 years, and a former Assistant District Attorney. He was a longtime volunteer for Camp Good Days and Special Times; he enjoyed cooking and traveling with family and friends. His family will receive friends Monday, 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Tuesday, 9:30 am at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church for his funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Camp Good Days and Special Times. Interment private at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Vargas, Gilberto, Sr. Rochester: Dec. 13, 2014, age 85. Predeceased by his daughter, Andrea; and grandson, Norberto. Survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Maria (Soto) Vargas; his children, Jose (Barbara) Soto, Maria Alvarado, Trinidad Vargas, Gilberto Vargas (Susan Smith); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Teresa Catala. VerSluis, Bernice D. Venice, Florida/Palmyra: Bernice passed away on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at the Gardens of Venice Assisted Living Facility in Venice, Florida. Bernice was predeceased by her first husband Raymond J. DeVolder in 1978 and her second husband, Harold VerSluis in 1992. Survivors include her children, who so loved her and will miss her, Kathleen (James) Hollingsworth, David R. (Mary) DeVolder, Mary (Frank) DeFoe; and grandchildren, Debra L. (James) Agostinelli, Lori A. (Doug) Cleveland, Terri (Bob) Havrilla, Matthew DeVolder and Rachel Potkovic; great grandchildren, Katlynn Cleveland, Zoe and Mia Agostinelli, Brittany (Max) Dingman, Jace Havrilla, Annika Potkovic and Jack Ferrill. The family extends a special thank you to Jackie, Connie and the staff at the Gardens of Venice for their friendship and kindness extended to their mother. Their will be no public visitation. Services and interment will be held privately in Marion, NY. Memorials in memory of Bernice may be made to your local hospice, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society. Vinke, Cornelia R. Marion: Entered into rest on (Sunday) December 14, 2014 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Anthony E. Vinke; brother: Lester DeFisher, and son-in-law: Jacob M. Zegers. Connie worked as a nurse at Newark Hospital for many years and assisted local residents with private duty care. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. Survived by her children: Mary Alice Zegers of Portville, NY, Joan E. Barkley of Fairport, NY, and David A. (Elaine) Vinke of Marion, NY; grandchildren: Christopher (Lynda), Gregory (Shirley), and Chad; 6 great-grandchildren; sister: Arlene VanHoute Tierson; sister-in-law: Patricia DeFisher; and many extended family members. A memorial service will be held on (Saturday) December 20, 2014 at 11am at Young Funeral Home. Private Spring burial in Marion Cemetery.
