Falls Church, VA: January 19, 2013. Blair Phillips, 24, entered peacefully into new life surrounded by loving friends and family. Blair's extraordinary life is celebrated by his parents, Paul & Deirdre (Mack) Phillips, sisters Kate and Anna, grandparents Constance (Larson) Phillips, Ronald & Denise (Winfield) Mack, aunts and uncles Bob (Nancy) Phillips, Conrad Phillips, Steve Phillips, Steve (Melissa) Mack, Brian (Jane) Mack, Therese (Mack)(Paul) Randazzese, cousins Julie, Hannah, Adam, Alyssa, Ryan, Austin, Laura, Sarah, Megan, Amelia, Emerson, Maya, Emma, Sophia.

Blair graduated from Avon High (2007), where he was a 3-sport athlete and elected Junior of the Year for excellence in service, leadership, sportsmanship and scholarship. He earned a B.S. in Architecture with honors from the University of Virginia (2011) and was elected into the Raven Society, UVA's oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. A 2010 Steamboat Foundation Scholar, Blair completed an internship at Reed Hilderbrand in Boston. In 2011, Blair began his architectural career with Perkins Eastman, where he worked on design projects including Washington DC's The Wharf: Southwest Waterfront.

For Blair, music is life itself. An accomplished classical pianist, he was awarded the Howard Hanson Certificate of Merit by the Rochester Piano Teachers' Guild. Choral performances include Bach Children's Chorus, school concerts, and numerous honors choruses. The pinnacle of Blair's life as a vocalist was as a member and music director of UVA's uproarious all-male a capella group, the Academical Village People. From an AVP brother, "Blair's life is a tribute to talent, energy, love, humor, kindness, humility, generosity, great hair, and 'AVPness'."

We are comforted and encouraged to look to the future knowing Blair lives on in everyone graced by his dazzling blue eyes, bright smile, and generous caring spirit.
