Fort Myers, FL: Passed peacefully Friday, April 11, 2014.

Born in Akron, Ohio on October 31, 1921. Bob grew up in Salamanca, New York. He was a curious and adventurous child, qualities that stayed with him all of his life. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where he majored in mechanical engineering.

Bob was a veteran of the US Army serving in the European front with the 303rd Combat Engineers/78th Lightning Division where he earned a Silver Star for "devotion to duty and personal courage."

A partner in Straubing Electric, Bob eventually began his own company, Spinco Metal Products in Newark, New York. A great wine aficionado Bob went on to create his own winery - Straubing Vineyards - a business that he truly enjoyed with family and friends.

Bob is predeceased by wives Grace (Jones) and Dolores (DeWind). He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen and his children, Dona (Obrist), Susan, C. Robert IV, George, Tammy and Kim; wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Bob was an avid boater and golfer, loved to fish and travel. He enjoyed the friends he made through many community affiliations including Rotary, Elks, US Power Squadron and the Landings Mens Golf Association. Always the gentle-man, he will be greatly missed.

A service will be held at a later date.
