Murrysville, PA: Age 71, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012. He was born October 14, 1941 in Mt. Morris, NY, son of Frances Marcille Offen of Rochester and the late Ralph George Offen. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. A long time employee of General Railway Signal (Rochester) and Wabtec (Pittsburgh), he was most recently a self employed Quality Assurance consultant. In addition to his mother Frances, David is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Soeder Offen; two daughters, Lisa (Larry) Magguilli of Pittsford, NY and Kelly Offen of Roswell, GA; four grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Sean and Mary Grace Magguilli; mother-in-law, Dorothy Soeder of Grand Island, NY; a brother, Gary (Randi) Offen of Rochester, NY; niece, Catherine (Daniel) Merwin; nephew, James Offen (Angella Cocchiara), and grand nephew, Callum Merwin.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Louis Church, Pittsford, NY on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Reception following. The family would like to thank the physicians and staff at both Hillman Cancer Center and UPMC Shadyside Hospital for their care during Dave's illness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, Development Department, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 in his memory.
