Olean: Loving wife passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Pines Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Olean after a brief illness.

Born November 19, 1921 in Sheldon, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Knaus Karowitz. On January 29, 1955 in St. Johns Church, she married Chester "Chet" Koziol who survives. Doris grew up in Crosby, PA, and attended Olean High School. She worked in St. Mary's School Cafeteria for many years and was a member of Transfiguration and St. John's Church. Doris loved playing bingo and was an outstanding pie maker.

In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by three sisters, Ann Molenda of Rochester, Katie (John) Record of Georgia and Vicky (Jack) Kennedy of Olean, a daughter-in-law, Joy Koziol of Rochester and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Koziol on September 4, 2013, five sisters, Mary Placer, Tillie Cappelletti, Helen Zrimsek, Genevieve Poleteck and twin sister, Dorothy McGonnell, and a brother John Karowicz.

Friends were received Wednesday evening from 6-9PM at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 East State Street, Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM today in St. John's Church, Olean. Rev. Edward Sheedy, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
