Syracuse: Age 91. James passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY, after a brief illness. Frank was born in Glen Dean, Kentucky, and moved to Rochester in 1945 after marrying his beloved wife Helen (Davide) Poole. Frank and Helen were married for 53 years before her passing in 1998.

Frank worked for the US Post Office for over 30 years and retired as chief mechanic for the City of Rochester. He was a Staff Sargent in the Army during WWII, and landed at Normandy with the 5th Armored Division during the D-Day invasion. Frank was an avid sports fan and loved football and SU basketball.

Frank above all loved his family and is survived by his son James Jr. (Nann Crozier) Poole; beloved grandson and granddaughter, Benjamin and Elizabeth; his sisters, Lucille Willoughby, Bonnie (Howard) Smith; brother, Harold (Rose) Poole; his sisters-in-law, Connie Davide, Florence Davide, Olga Simone, Gloria Siddons, Beverly Davide, Thelma Poole & Faye Poole. Frank was predeceased by five brothers and sisters including Hazel Poole, Christine Robinson, C.B. Poole, George Poole, and Donald Poole. Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY 14626, where James' visitation will be Wednesday, 6-9 PM. His Funeral Service will be Celebrated Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home, followed by his entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 in James' memory.
