James Robert DuBois

DuBois, James Robert

Rochester: James Robert DuBois died peacefully April 12, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born June 21, 1919; grew up in Rochester and Hilton; and was pre-deceased by his parents Susan Lansing and Abraham DuBois, as well as his many siblings. He is survived by his loving family: his beloved wife of 62 years Arabelle; daughters and sons-in-law Martha & Frank Sciremammano and Barbara & Kevin Coombs; grandchildren Joie Neely (Mark), Frank J. Sciremammano, Daniel Coombs (fiancée Sherilyn Hale) and William Coombs. He was much loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Jim ("Jum") was a combat veteran of WWII, serving as a First Lieutenant in the US Army with the 46th Armored Infantry Battalion. He worked at Eastman Kodak Company for 42 years, retiring in 1981. He was a quiet and devoted family man, avid gardener and golfer, accomplished wood worker, and loyal fan of apple fritters. He and Arabelle enjoyed countless Sunday afternoon car rides in the country to visit nearby towns. They took great pride in caring for their home which they built together 61 years ago in Greece. Until very recently, it was still their residence.

At the end, he was cared for at Hildebrandt Hospice in Greece. We thank the amazing staff there for the compassionate and loving attention they gave to him. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial donations to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester NY 14626.

Friends may call Friday, April 18 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). Private interment at convenience of family. To share a memory of Jim or send a condolence to the family visit www.anthonychapels.com.
