Liccione, Jean E.
Morristown, NJ: 67, of Morristown, NJ and Wilmington, NC, passed away on October 4, 2012, in Wilmington, in the company of loved ones, after a long and brave battle with a rare neurological condition, Cortical Basal, Ganglionic Degeneration. She was born May 15, 1945 to Paul B. and Justine (Richardson) Kebabian in Waterbury,CT and grew up in Bethpage, NY. We celebrate her life as the beloved wife of Richard J. Liccione, her husband of 47 years, and devoted sister of Ann Kebabian and Helen Kebabian of Hamilton, NY. Jean is remembered as a loving aunt to nieces Sophia Balakian of Champagne, IL, Helen Pfann of Raleigh, NC, a godmother to Vicki Profitt of Rochester, NY. Beloved nephews are Paul Pfann of Albany, NY, James Balakian of Arlington, VA, and Matthew Liccione of Columbia, MO.
Jean's distinguished career in childhood education, included senior editorial positions at publishers Scholastic and Silver Burdett & Ginn. She retired as an Editorial Director in Reading and Language Arts for Pearson Education. Jean was also the author of a children's reading book and prior to her career in publishing, she was a teacher in the Greece, NY schools and a Reading Specialist in Albuquerque, NM. She left Bowling Green State Univ. for marriage, and graduated from SUNY Brockport, receiving a Masters in Education from Univ. of VT.
