O'Keane, Joseph John
Boulder, CO: July 28, 2013 at age 73. Joseph is predeceased by his sons, Michael Civiletti and Seamus O'Keane. He is survived by his loving children, Joseph (Peggy) Civiletti, Patricia (Mark) Clemens, Devin (Jamie), Niall, and Brighid O'Keane; his 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Kathleen Knapp; 1 niece and 2 nephews; and many dear friends.
Joseph, formerly of Pittsford NY, Brea CA, and Sunnyvale, CA, was born in the Bronx, New York, and received his Irish citizenship in 2007. He graduated from Fordham Preparatory School in 1958 and received a B.A. in Math and English and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame
in 1963. Joseph is a retired executive of Eastman Kodak Company. In 1955, he was the youngest Boy Scout in his district to receive the Eagle Award.
While living in Pittsford, Joseph was the president of the Rochester Notre Dame Alumni Association, treasurer of the Vince Lombardi Youth Football and Cheerleading League, Assistant Scoutmaster for camping, Rotarian
, and Big League Baseball coach.
A lover of culture and the arts, Joseph was a true renaissance man, and he will be remembered for his patience, his integrity, and his love for his children.
Family members are holding celebrations of Joseph's life in Colorado and Florida.
