Pittsfield, MA: Age 94, formerly of West Brighton, NY died peacefully on April 24, 2013, in Pittsfield, MA. Born in Rochester, NY, on Sept. 5, 1918, to Neils Andersen & Ellen Rasmussen, both of Denmark. Predeceased by his wife, Frances (Foster) Andersen & sister Alice (Andersen) Ihrig. Survived by children, Barbara Andersen Yocum (James), of Shirley and Dalton, MA; Carol (Andersen) Kaplan of Greeley, CO; Foster Andersen of Santa Cruz, CA; & Peter & Maureen (Britt) Andersen of Dalton, MA; grandchildren, Jessica & Matthew Kaplan, & Riley, Liam & Brennan Andersen; nephew, John Ihrig & his wife, Diane & brother-in-law Powell Foster & wife Sharon, cousins & many friends. Norm graduated from West High School & The University of Michigan with a degree in Architectural Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during WW II & the Korean War. He worked as an architect in the Rochester area until his retirement in 2005.
