Zicari, Sylvester J. "Sy"

Rochester: Peacefully on November 4, 2012, at the age of 97. Predeceased by his granddaughter, Nancy Infantino. Survived by his devoted and loving wife of 70 years, Lucille Zicari; children, Bruce (Patricia) Zicari, Craig (Anne Coon) Zicari and Gail (Thomas) Wagner; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Betty) Zicari of Las Vegas; many cousins, nieces and nephews; 5 godchildren; and many close friends.

Sy graduated from Hobart College in 1939 and went on to form his own accounting firm, S.J. Zicari & Co, located at 135 State Street in Rochester. He served a term as Irondequoit Town Councilman in the late 1960's. Sy was a renowned fisherman on the St. Lawrence River, where he and Lucille have a summer home in Clayton New York (on the River) that they and their family have enjoyed for over 50 years. Above all else, he treasured his time spent with family. Sy's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staffs at Strong Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit & Webster Comfort Care Home for their loving and compassionate care. Sy's visitation will be held 4-8 PM on Tuesday, November 6th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte. 390 & Long Pond Rd.) His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM on Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Webster Comfort Care Home, 700 Holt Rd, Webster. NY 14580. in Sy's memory.
