Rita has always held a special place in my heart. I will miss having coffee and sharing conversations about kids sports and "town news" with her. Rita always had a warm smile and a soft " well hello, Lisa, how are you today? " for me. God has finally called you home, and you will for eternity be with your beloved Jack. I feel blessed that you crossed my path and feel peace knowing you are at rest. Farewell Rita.

Thirty eight years ago I came to Honeoye Central School to work as a teachers' aide. One of the teachers I had the honor of working with was Rita Carrie. It never ceased to amaze me how Rita always knew which kids were having a rough day and which students needed a hug to make their day better. She was an awesome teacher and touched the lives of so many of her students.
During that year Rita asked me if I would like to help her with the elementary production of the "Tourtise and the Hare". She usually did an elementary production of some kind. I said yes and it went uphill from there. Rita helped me realize that what I really wanted to do was work with students doing theatre. "Look at all those little faces up there, don't they just make you smile, "she said. She was really a mentor to me, someone I had the utmost respect for. The world is a better place because of Rira Carrie! Thanks Rita, Bonnie Sykes

To Rita's Family: We will always love your Mom, Rita- she was special. I have memories to cherish of all the wonderful party's we've celebrated together & the many wonderful Thanksgiving Dinners we enjoyed together at the Carrier abode. I especially enjoyed when Rita shared story's of Brad as a child with me as well as her Jack story's which made her smile from ear to ear. I will miss her dearly and we send our prayers and love to all. Peace

An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Dear Carrier & Fitzgerald families: It has been my pleasure to know Rita. We spent many hours sitting together and visiting at the G&J Picnics and Cohn's birthday party.
She would stop at the shop with oranges & cookies for Mitch (he usually got one less than she brought.) I will miss her. Love,
