Carmen Colon-Acosta Obituary

December 7, 2010. Survived by her husband, Francisco "Frank"; daughter, Laura (Juan) Acosta; grandchildren, Frances (Ronnie), Juan F. (Melissa) and Agustin Acosta; great-grandchildren, Laura Elisa, Linn Elizabeth and Frank Richard; sisters, Carmen Martinez and Alice Villafane; sisters-in-law, Rosario, Nilda and Sylvia; several nieces and nephews; and special friends that were like a son and daughter, Pat and Joanne Leo. Carmen was founder of the AARP Chapter of Puerto Rico, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Rotary Club, Female Auxillary with Knights of Columbus and a Volunteer of Catholic Charities and she was in the Choir at Diocese of Mayaguez.
Friends may call Friday 2-4, 7-9 PM at the DREIER-GILTNER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1717 Portland Ave. (at the corner of Portland and Ridge Rd. E.),. where a Service will be held Saturday at 10 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the VNS.

I am sorry for your loss. I think back to the first time I saw Mamita and Papito...I was amazed at how they looked at each other. They were still in love. It was wonderful to see.
