Fr. Hogan was a special servant of God. He gave my mother-in-law the sacrament of the sick just before she died last May. He asked her how old she was and when she gave her answer, he said "that's the same year I was born, it was a good year!" My mother-in-law replied "it was the best year". My mother-in-law became calm and almost jovial as he stayed and visited with her and us. He gave her the peace she needed to make the transition and ease her suffering. I am grateful for the gift Father Hogan gave her and us.

I knew Fr Mike from Honeoye Falls many years ago. He was pastor of St. Paul of the Cross church. He was such an outgoing, inspiring ecumenical priest who was also a family friend. My children and I were communicants at St Paul. Marie C. (Freedman) Chase.

I remember Fr. Hogan when he served at St. Mary's in Corning(my hometown). I was an alter server at the time. When I getting ready to go back to St. John Fisher College one summer, Fr. Hogan wondered if he could help me by driving me to Rochester. My mom was in he hospital at the time. It was such a wonderful gesture on his part. He will certainly be missed.

I have been a "regular" at the 6:30 am Mass and Fr. Mike has become an important part of my life. His ministry was instrumental in healing me from my heart attack 4 years ago. The day after the heart attack, I was awaiting to be transported to get an angiogram. I was very unsettled and nervous about it, wondering what they'd find and have to do. Then Mike came in with the Blessed Sacramentt and gave me the Sacrament of the Sick and the blessing of our Lord upon me. At that moment, my anxieties vanished and I was at complete and utter peace. The rest is history. I will be forever grateful for his being an instrument of my healing yhrough Our Lord. He was and is a Saint. From now on, I will pray TO him to intercede and be an advocate with God. May God bless his magnanimous soul!

Father Hogan: you were a great friend and sounding board. The thing that stands out in my own mind about Father Mike was his innate kindness. Father had a more direct and visible contact with the people of St. Mary’s in Honeoye. I wish to thank Father Mike, belatedly, for his life as a dedicated priest and as a steadfast Christian. May God bless his soul.

Father Mike,
You were a most caring and warm spiritual guide to so many. It was always special to be at your 6:30AM Mass at SJR. Your message was simple, in the very best sense of that word, and gave each person something to take into their day. You were the stereotypical Irish Catholic priest. Full of goodness and wit.
I am confident that you were greeted by God with the words, "Welcome good and faithful servant!"
