Joe was one of the most intelligent people I ever knew. He was one of the good guys!

I just read the notice in the ST Ignatius magazine. I'm sorry for your loss. I met Joe in 1960 when we entered SICP together. He was a great friend and classmate for four years of math and physics and Latin and Greek, touch (and not-so-touch!) football games during lunch. We talked again just recently when his daughter wanted to visit and watch the teachers in science here at school. I always hoped we would get together again. You are in my thoughts.

I'm very sorry to hear about Joe's passing. I was a member of ACORN for many years, and remember how knowledgeable and helpful Joe was with computers.

I remember Joe back in the 80s when he was active in the old Atari computer community as a programmer, writer (various published articles) and member (and even president, I think) of the Atari Computer Owners of Rochester New York. I was always blown away by the depths of his intelligence and skill as a programmer and he was most definitely an influence on me. My condolences to his family.

To the Wrobel family,
Joe was a good man. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know him will remember not just his technical excellence but especially his sense of humor, samples of which I quote to my students today. He will be missed.
WIth deepest sympathy,

Joe was a mentor and a friend, the kindest and most helpful of many decent folks from my Kodak years. I will always cherish the years we spent as office mates.

Dear Joe,
Thank you for the nice time we shared in the early 90 's on the development work we both loved and which put CD-R on the map. You were a great person to have known.
I wish your wife and children strength in this difficult period.
My deeply-felt condolences.

Mr. Wrobel...you will be missed! I'll always remember your performance at the Boscobel Beach talent night and I've enjoyed your contributions to Facebook for the past year and a half. Jenn was blessed with a truly special father.
