Greece: Died at age 91 on January 7, 2013. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Lena "Bunny" Marini. Americo is survived by his children, Thomas (Karen) Marini, Sharon (David) Stutzman, Joyce (John) Shaner, Robert (Sharon) Marini and David (Michele) Marini; twenty grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary DiPinto, Dora (Patsy) Arena; sisters-in-law, Grace Williams and Helen DeMayo; several nieces and nephews and cousins; and many dear friends.
Rick Marini fought for his country in World War II, serving as a B-24 pilot and squadron leader. He flew over 30 combat missions and was awarded several honors and medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. He left the Air Force with the rank of Major. Rick's family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff and caregivers of Edna Tina Wilson Living Center, especially those in the Country Unit, for their outstanding care, support and friendship to our father and our family.
His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 12th 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Rochester, 2505 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester, NY 14625. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Open Door Mission (OpenDoorMission.com) in his memory.
