Langenhan, Curt Val

Penfield: March 22, 2013. Born September 10, 1926, in Lakewood, Ohio. Predeceased by his parents, Hermann and Alice Langenhan; brother, Walter Langenhan. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ardis Leigh Langenhan; son, Mark (Barbara Lorshbaugh) Langenhan; two grandsons, Dr. Joseph (Dr. Sophie Blanchard) Langenhan, David (Jamie Hasenstab) Langenhan, two great-grandsons, Gabriel (Joseph) and Wilhelm (David); Daughter, Laura Langenhan (Dr. Jeffrey) Fichter; two granddaughters, Dr. Jennifer (fiancé Dr. Bryan Stanistreet) Fichter and Emily Fichter; sister, Rita Langenhan (Robert, deceased) Hollis; sister-in-law, Sarah Leigh (William) Evans; several nieces and nephews

Curt served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was aboard the U.S.S. Stevenson (Little Mo), a Gleason Class destroyer, from 1944 to 1946. Recipient of (5) five Bronze Stars awarded for service during operations in New Guinea, Sansapor, Nooemfoor, Palau, Iwo Jima and Okinawa and the Japanese coast. Witnessed the Surrender of Japan and was a Graduate of Case Western Reserve University.

He worked at TRW in Cleveland Ohio on both the Gemini and Apollo Space projects Retired from Xerox Corporation Webster, NY after 22 years in electrical procurement and was a member of Asbury First United Methodist Church, Rochester, NY.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 30th, 11 AM with reception to follow at Asbury United Methodist Church. Private interment at White Haven Memorial Park.
