Dorothy VanOrman Obituary
Fairport: Died September 27, 2015 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her parents, Herman Russell & Mae Marshall Stevens White and her sister, Margaret White Logan. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Lynne VanOrman; son, Russell Lane (Lori) VanOrman; her granddaughters, Cristen Brooke Hayes and Emily Ann VanOrman. Dorothy loved life. She was proud of her heritage as a Missouri farm girl having been born in Eldon and raised near Sedalia. Her first career was as an elementary teacher in Missouri and Michigan before moving to Fairport in 1967. She then became a realtor and thoroughly enjoyed her work for 35 years. She loved meeting people and entertaining in her home. She was a fashionista before the word was coined and loved shopping with her best friend, Rose Bardi. She also enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Spain and Hawaii.
Calling hours, Sunday 4-7 PM at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road (Egypt location) where a Service will take place Monday at 11 AM. Memorials may be made to the Perinton Volunteer Ambulance Corps., SOFI (Senior Options For Independence) or your favorite cancer charity.

Dear Cheri and Russ and families,
Your mom was special and I will cherish wonderful memories, particularly her warm and "entertaining-with-great-flair" hospitality, coupled with all the "little touches"! I remember her spoon jewelry, and a few adventurous travels along the way as well. She was a terrific friend to my Mom, and for that among many other kindnesses, we will treasure so many positive thoughts. It was, indeed, a pleasure to know her!
God's blessings and peace - she indeed made a positive difference to many!

To the dear families , I send my condolences to you on the loss of your love one, I do not know you personally, but it is amazing that she live such a long life, not many of us do.
