Mendon: February 17, 2014 at age 69 after a prolonged illness. Predeceased by his father, Rowland Ramsey; grandmother, Claire Cordes; and aunt, Jean Kramer. Survived by his wife, Mary Jane; their children, Colin (Jennie) Ramsey and daughter, Dr. Allison Ramsey (Jon Sienkowski); 3 grandsons, Drew and Grant Sienkowski, and Gavin Ramsey. Also survived by his mother, Lorraine Ramsey; sister, Patricia (Shawn) DeRepentigny; aunt, Madeline Yutz; and many dear sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Drew attended Hamilton College where he excelled in short-distance running and was named an All-American as an upperclassman. After college, he attended Cornell Law School and obtained his law degree in 1969. Prior to his illness, Drew was a partner with the law firm of Kamen Berlove in Rochester. He was also the Mendon Town Justice from 1984-1989, and served as President of the Monroe County Magistrate's Association during a portion of that time. He will be remembered for his deep commitment to his family, his ardor for sports, care for nature, and dedication to his numerous close friends. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Friendship Four West at Monroe Community Hosapital who so lovingly cared for Drew these past two years, and to all at Lifetime Care Hospice of Rochester who ensured that his final days were comfortable and peaceful.
Friends may call Friday, Feb. 21, 4-7 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 3 PM at the University of Rochester Interfaith Chapel, 500 Joseph C. Wilson Blvd, Rochester, NY 14627. Interment will be private.
