Mooresville, NC: Edward James Marzano, 88, passed peacefully, Saturday, December 15th, 2012 at home with the love of his life, Lidia (Lee) nearby. The high school sweethearts just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. So connected were they, that they were widely known by one name "EdandLee". He was a steadfast father to his son, Edward Thomas Marzano (Patricia) of Churchville, NY and daughter, Carol Marie Welch (Thomas) of Mooresville, NC. Papa unconditionally loved his grandchildren, Christine Ann Marzano and Sean Edward Welch.
Big Ed worked as a model maker at Castle Company, in Rochester, NY for his entire career. He took the ideas of the engineers and built a working model of their products, dental and surgical equipment. He is a Naval veteran of WWII, former Commander of American Legion Post 180 and leader in the company credit union. An avid sportsman; he taught his son, Eddie, skills and respect in shooting, fishing, and bowling, expertise as a machinist, and the faithfulness of a husband and father. To his daughter, Carol, he instilled the natural drive of volunteerism, service and leadership. He died as he lived, peacefully, quietly, gently and mercifully. Thank you, Dad.
Donations may be made in Ed's honor to your local Hospice.
