Blake, Ella Rowena

Wolcott: Went to our Lord on October 11, 2013 at age 88. Born January 27, 1925 to Ralph and Margaret Mason of Wolcott, she was a 1942 graduate of Leavenworth High School and 1943 graduate of RBI in Secretarial Science. Rowena was a cashier at several local businesses and was very active in the community as a dispatcher for WAVAC, driver for Meals-on-Wheels, coordinator of the Food Pantry, and election inspector for the Town of Butler. As a 76 year member of The First Baptist Church of Wolcott, she served as Church Secretary for many years and was a member of the American Baptist Women.

Rowena is survived by her sons, Woodrow (Linda) of Winston-Salem, NC, Barry (Cindy) of Wolcott and Dennis of Wolcott; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Everett and Gerda Mason; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Leon Marshall Blake, her brother, Leonard "Spike" Mason and daughter-in-law, Mary Blake.

A Memorial Service will be held at The First Baptist Church on Sunday, October 27 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The First Baptist Church of Wolcott, 6025 New Hartford St., Wolcott, NY 14590 or The , P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011. Arrangements have been entrusted to Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home.
