Obituary Condolences


James A. Jr.,

Newport News, VA: 87, entered eternal rest on Wed., Aug. 7, 2013. He was born in Shirley, WVA. He saw action during WWII, while serving in the Navy. James married Clara in Olean NY and moved to Rochester, NY and had a career employed by the WM. Wrigley Jr. Co. He earned his coveted pilot's license in a 2 week time frame, also serving in the Civil Air Patrol in NY State. He was a man of many talents; a gifted salesperson, avid outdoorsman, a skilled home builder, innovative repairman with a keen eye, musical ability and a good voice. He loved driving, flying, cars and machinery. James was a charming "people person".

He was preceded in death by his sister, Edith; and brothers, Francis (Tink), Thomas and Harry. James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Clara, of Hampton, and eight children, Mary Lou (Wayne) Crist of Toano,VA, Sharon (Mike) Kelly of Newport News, VA, Michael (Johnna) Robinson, of Lyons, NY, Elizabeth R. Robinson of Buffalo, NY, James A. III (Barbara) of VA Beach, VA, John Robinson of Newport News, VA, Terah Robinson of Colorado and Ruby R. Farmer of Macedon, NY; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am, Today, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Newport News, VA. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
