Van Auker, James C. "jimmyvan"

Webster: Passed away on April 1, 2013 after a 7-year battle with Lymphoma. God lent him to us on September 2, 1927. He was a Rochester native and well known in the Speaker's Guild and Butterhole Sports. He retired from Rochester Gas & Electric after 43 years of service. He is predeceased by his mother, Ruth Van Auker, father, Tom Van Auker; brother, George (Dorothy) Yahn, sister, Madlyn (Al) Oeschle. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Sharon; daughter, Gail Van Auker; son, Todd (Michele) Van Auker and stepson, Timothy J. (Rose) Wood; grandchildren, Aaron, Joseph, Keri, David and Michael Van Auker; step-grandchildren, Timmy Wood and Mitch Rueckwald. He also leaves his sister, Miriam (Roy) Harnischfeiger; brother, Tom (Agnes) Van Auker of Ohio; many nieces and nephews. Jim had his last beer with many friends he met during his life, but will be having his favorite "Heineken" with some other old buddies now.

A special thanks to the "girls" and staff at the Lipson Cancer Center for making his long journey bearable.

Friends may call Wednesday, 4-7 PM at the funeral chapel (1031 Ridge Rd.). A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 9:15 AM at St. Rita Church, 1008 Maple Drive, Webster. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lipson Cancer Center at RGH, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Holy Childhood or to the .
