James Sculli Obituary

Sculli, James F. "Jim"
Waterloo: On Wednesday, April 30, 2010 America lost a really fine citizen and loyal friend. James (Jim) F. Sculli, 87 passed away after collapsing on a golf course near his home in The Villages, Florida.
Family and friends may attend Jim's Mass of Christian burial on Friday (May 7) at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Waterloo, NY, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. There will be no prior calling hours. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. If desired, contributions may be made to Pathway Home/United Way, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, NY 13148 or the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, National Headquarters, 706 Haddonfield Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home Inc., Waterloo, NY.
Those who knew Jim found him to be a hard working, decent man. He was a mentor, with a warm smile and a roster of friends who were in his life for decades. He loved life, he loved his family, he loved his beloved New York Yankees and he loved the game of golf. He was a hero to his family - he was always there for them whenever he was needed, but most of all he was fun.
He is survived by his loving wife, Meredith; daughter, Michelle Selby, son, James; daughter-in-law, Sandra; grandson, Corey; brothers Anthony and wife Elsie and Richard and wife Sandy, and many dearly loved nieces & nephews.
What we do for ourselves dies with us instantaneously; what we do for others and for the betterment of our community perpetuates more goodness and realistic hope for a better world. Those who live for themselves and then perish; are departed from our world without much thought from others; but those who persevere in striving to help others shall leave a legacy where others have been enriched, enlightened, and inspired.
Dad, Jim, you will be missed; our lives are enriched for knowing you.

Dear Meredith,
We were so sorry to hear about Jim. He was such a great fella and true friend. We enjoyed being neighbors while you lived in Harrisburg, NC. We will miss him terribly. We love you both. He was so kind and helpful to everyone.

To Jim's family,
Judy and I knew Jim for only a short time considering his 87 years. He and Meredith have been our neighbors in The Villages since we moved here in 2008. We love them both and can't imagine life on Moncks Corner without Jim. He may have been small in stature but he was huge as a human being. A kinder or more giving person you will never find and we will miss him so much.

Haven`t seen Jim in many years, but have very fond memories of him. Worked with him a summer at Goulds as we became fast friends.Always smiling, and ready to lend a helping hand. I know he will be missed by family and countless friends. May God bless him and his family as well.

DAVE ROGERS FAMILY

May 5, 2010

Dick...So sorry to read about your brother Jim. Yes he was more than a great person and was always there to help anyone out who needed help. Your brother Jim and my brother Eddie Rogers were the best of friends and got along very well and would kid each other about Waterloo and Mynderse in sports and ended up playing semi pro baseball together. He and Ed can get together now and watch over you and myself. My God bless all his family.
