Pittsford: Passed on May 9, 2013 at the age of 83. Predeceased by brother Mark, survived by wife Jacqueline of 61 years; sisters Florence Eppstein and Evelyn Haller; children Pamela and William Mostyn, Mark and Andrea Adams, Sari and William Middlebrook and grandchildren Michael, Jamie, and Liam.
Surgeon, educator, philanthropist, and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. Dr. Adams trained as a surgeon at Washington University in St. Louis. He proudly served his country as a Captain in the US Army. He was equally dedicated to his family, patients, residents in training, medical students and friends. During his nearly 51 years on the faculty at the University of Rochester as Professor of Surgery he cared for thousands of patients, trained hundreds of residents and medical students, published innumerable papers, abstracts, and book chapters; and, through his teachings and dedicated service helped countless individuals.
Friends may call Wednesday and Thursday, 2-4, 7-9 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). Friends are invited to bring a written memory or photo of Dr. Adams for the family's Memory Book. Private interment. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 15th, 3 PM at the Interfaith Chapel at the University of Rochester.
