Klaus J. Roghmann Obituary
Roghmann, Klaus J.

Rochester, NY: 79, a retired University of Rochester professor, died November 27, 2012 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada after a stroke.

Dr. Roghmann was born in Stettin, Germany (now Poland) in 1933. He received his doctorate Degree in sociology from the University of Cologne in Germany. He and his family moved to Rochester, New York in 1966 where he was a professor at the University of Rochester. He was responsible for the research in the Rochester Community Health Services Program that achieved international prominence. Without his determination to apply rigorous research methods to evaluation, the reputation of the Community Pediatrics Program would not have made the impact that it did. His contributions to the Rochester Program in pediatrics, nursing and health services research will long endure.

After retirement, Dr. Roghmann split his time between Yucca, Arizona and Rochester, New York. He is survived by his three children, Mary-Claire, Hugh and Angela, and five grandchildren.

Friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Interfaith Chapel at the University of Rochester at 11 am on Saturday January 19th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Advancement Office, PO Box 278896, Rochester, NY 14627-8996 in his memory.
