Bentley, Marsha Strasenburgh

Arlington, TX: On Tuesday, January 15, 2013, Marsha passed peacefully knowing and accepting that at the age of 73 after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis, this was her time to move to the final stage in life. She resided with her husband of 46 years, William Bentley, in Arlington, TX.

Marsha was born in 1939 in Rochester, N.Y. to Elizabeth and Paul Strasenburgh and grew up with older sister Lucinda and younger brother Alex. After receiving degrees at Syracuse University and SUNY Geneseo, Marsha taught elementary students in Lancaster, NY and was an involved member of Lancaster Presbyterian Church. After moving to TX in 1979, she spent her free time expressing her love of art, crafts and music with the congregation of St. Barnabas United Methodist Church and her grandchildren. A fantastic wife and mother, she was always interested in the well-being and feelings of those around her. She made the most of any opportunity to show how much we all were valued, appreciated and loved with the perfect gift or thoughtful note. Her generosity, attention to detail and kindness will be missed. She leaves behind husband William, sons David and Paul, daughters-in-law Pamela and Sheramie, grandchildren Elizabeth, Jonathan, Kathryn and Olivia, her sister Lucinda Strasenburgh from Schenectady, N.Y., her brother Alex from Livonia, N.Y. and her step-mother Shirley Copeland Strasenburgh from Avon, N.Y.

The memorial service will be held on Monday January 21st, at St. Barnabas Methodist Church in Arlington, beginning at 11:00a.m. A light reception will follow for all family and friends. The family suggests that any memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation via http://curearthritis.org/ ; The American Diabetes Donation website https://donations.diabetes.org/site/ or St. Barnabas Memorial fund found a http://www.sbumc.org using the online giving link.
