Irondequoit: November 25, 2013. Nancy passed away peacefully after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Jennie & Charles Ross and brother, Benny Sortino. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Benny Calcagno; children, Richard (Theresa) Calcagno, Kathy (Bill) Homan, Carolyn (Tony) Fedele and Joe (Juanita) Cimineri; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Kay Brenna; many nieces and nephews. Nancy retired from Julian's Dry Cleaners in February 2013. She enjoyed going to concerts, riding roller coasters and playing cards. Nancy played poker with the same group of girls for 40 years. She is remembered for her Christmas wreath making business which she ran out of her home every Christmas season and was a talented painter and wallpaper hanger for hire. Her un-dying love and devotion to her family will be sadly missed.
Friends are welcome to call Sunday 2-6 PM a the DREIER-GILTNER FUNERAL HOME INC., 1717 Portland Ave. (corner of Portland & East Ridge Rd.). Nancy's Memorial Mass will be Monday 10:30 AM at St. Kateri at St. Cecilia's Church. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
