Bremerton, WA: Rochester native Robert J. Colegrove died February 25, 2014 at a nursing home in Bremerton, Washington, after a five-month battle with malignant pleural mesothelioma. Mr. Colegrove was a 1954 graduate of East Monroe High School and a 1960 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, retiring from active service in 1979. He was predeceased by his parents in 1973 and 1986. He is survived by his brother, Dr. DeForest William Colegrove, Jr. of Belen, New Mexico. Also surviving are his three adult children: daughter Melanie (son-in-law Michael) O'Connell, grandsons Lance Corporal Sean O'Connell, U.S. Marine Corps, and Nathan and Daniel O'Connell, of Poulsbo, Washington; son Dr. Eric (wife Colleen) Colegrove and grandchildren Evan and Brianna of Demorest, Georgia; and son Dr. John (wife Dr. Ruthie) Colegrove and granddaughters Savannah and Dallas of Peachtree Corner, Georgia.
Memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday, March 8th at St. Charles Anglican Church, Poulsbo, WA.
