Palmer, Shirlene M.

Greece: Shirlene Eva McKinney Palmer, born July 7, 1923, in Lubec, Maine, passed from this life into Heaven at 4 PM on March 28, 2014. Shirlene was a talented musician, loved to garden & had a keen mind and dry wit. Known for her reverence for God, passion for music and love of children & animals, she will be missed most by those who knew her best. She was devoted to and is survived by her husband of 67 years, Osmond "Freddie" Palmer; and is also dearly loved by all her family, including her sons, Mark (Janet), Scott (Deborah), Brian; daughter, Kim (Edward) Liebrand; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was a founding member of Journey Christian Church (formerly West Side Baptist Church), where she taught children's Sunday school, led Pioneer Girls, sang in the choir, played violin and organ, and faithfully tended the gardens for many years.

Friends may call Tuesday, 3-8 PM at the funeral home, 777 Long Pond Rd. (between English & Latta). A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday at Journey Christian Church, 3955 Mt. Read Blvd. Private Interment. In her memory, contributions may be made to Camp Cherith of WNY, or the Parkinson's Association.
