Rochester: Entered into eternal rest after a long illness, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at age 96. Predeceased by her husband, John P. Grattan and son, Michael J. Grattan. Survived by her brothers, C. William Meagher, Robert (Shirley) Meagher; daughters, Mary M. (Christopher) Willoughby and Ann L. (Marci) Weber; daughter-in-law, Patricia Grattan; sons, John P. (Mary Anne) Grattan, James E. (Agnes Perry) Grattan, Christopher P. Grattan, Daniel J. (Lizzette Chian) Grattan; 28 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was a loving wife and mother, devoted to the welfare and education of her 7 children. She provided end-of-life support for her son, her mother and her sister-in-law and a home for 2 nephews. She was a devout Roman Catholic throughout her life. She was active in her Parish Communities, especially those of St. Augustine's in Rochester and St. Christopher's in North Chili, where she and her husband were founding members. At St. Christopher's, she served as a Eucharistic Minister and as an RCIA Sponsor. Margaret was a 1935 graduate of Monroe High School. She was a former employee of Eastman Kodak, the University of Rochester Strong Medical Center, and the Sisters of Mercy. She was a past president of the St. Augustine's School and Aquinas Institute Mothers' Clubs.

Friends may call at the Leo M. Bean & Sons Funeral Home, Wednesday, 3-7. Funeral Mass Thursday 9:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 534 Oxford St. Interment, St. Pius X Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the School of the Holy Childhood, St. Christopher's, and Blessed Sacrament Church in her memory.
