Fritschler, Patricia

Pittsford: At an early morning hour on April 9, 2014 at Highland Hospital, Pat was called peacefully to her Heavenly home.

Born in Albany, New York, on January 17, 1927, she graduated from Vincention Institute and Siena College. She was an insurance investigator and then a marketing engineer at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, New York. Following her marriage, Pat conducted a radio program in Schenectady called "HERE", capturing the sights and sounds of the City. She graduated from an Intensive Teachers Training Program developed to encourage people engaged in business to become classroom teachers. She received a Master's Degree in Education from SUNY.

Pat taught in the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School System until a family relocation to Chappaqua, New York. Pat taught at Roaring Brook School in the Chappaqua School System for 20 years, teaching various grades, combination and enriched classes. She was universally recognized as a Master Teacher. Her students consistently excelled, not only in academics, but in social, theatrical, creativity, and other class endeavors. Pat was an avid gardener and lover of nature, particularly in Vermont and Lake George. Her favorite role was that of devoted "Grandmom".

Pat leaves her husband, Alvin, beloved daughter, Mary (Chris) Corcoran, cherished grandchildren Devon Holcomb (Brad Kuhrtz), Maryn Holcomb, and Edward (Teddy) Corcoran, all joys in her life, together with her collie, Rory and white cat, Callie.

Most sincere appreciation to the staff of Highland Hospital, especially Chaplin Don Marlar; to Pat's compassionate and caring Dr. Anuj Bansal, and to Fr. Bob Ring for his spiritual uplift to us all. A memorial mass will be held at St. Louis Church, Pittsford at a date and time to be announced. To share a memory of Pat or send a condolence to the family visit
