Mayor of Brown Square

Rochester: Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at age 87. Predeceased by his wife, Evangeline "Vangie" Magliocco. He is survived by his children, William (Sara) Magliocco of GA, Joseph Magliocco & Anna (Michael) Chagnon of MA; grandchildren, Maggi Magliocco, Dylan and Nicholas Chagnon; sister, Sylvia Rebis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Patrick (Helen) Crough, Michael and Sandy Crough, Gerald and Maria Crough; many nieces, nephews.

Growing up in the Brown square section of Rochester, Nick became known as the "Mayor of Brown Square" or simply the "Mayor" because of his leadership presence and outgoing nature. As a young man, he moved to Hollywood, California and built movie sets for 20th Century Fox including those used in "The Song of Bernadette" And "Guadalcanal Diaries". In World War II, he helped to recover the remains of US soldiers so they could be brought home to their loved ones. He worked for over 35 years for Stecher, Traung, Schmidt, a local lithographic company. He also helped his wife run Precious Hours Creative Learning Center, a preschool and learning disabilities center.

Friends may call FRIDAY 4:00-8:00PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Saturday, May 3, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:30AM in St. Christopher's Church, 3350 Union St. (N.Chili). Interment, private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to ., 1595 Elmwood Ave. Rochester, NY 14620 in his memory.
