DuBois, Arabelle

Williams

Rochester: Passed away peacefully May 28, 2014. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, James; parents Edna Thrall and Walter L. Williams and siblings. Survived by: daughters and sons-in-law Martha and Frank Sciremammano and Barbara and Kevin Coombs; grandchildren Joie Neely (Mark), Frank J. Sciremammano, Daniel Coombs (fiancée Sherilyn Hale) and William Coombs; sister-in-law Rita Williams; and nieces and nephews. She was much loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Arabelle was born July 14, 1925; grew up in Rochester, and settled with Jim in the Town of Greece. She graduated from Monroe High School, attended the University of Rochester and worked at Eastman Kodak. While raising their family, she turned her energies to being a homemaker. She loved to garden, knit, sew, work with stained glass, cook and bake. Arabelle was an animal lover and caregiver to many pets and yard creatures. Her pies were family favorites and her hand-knitted afghans keep us cozy and warm. She enjoyed exploring shops and restaurants on car rides with Jim and never met a piece of candy she didn't love. They took great pride in caring for their home, which they built together 61 years ago and, until recently, was still their residence.

In her last months, she was compassionately befriended by staff at the Hurlbut Care communities. We are grateful.

Friends may call Monday, June 2 from 4-7 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). Private Interment at the convenience of family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Lollipop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450 or WXXI Public Broadcasting, 280 State St., Rochester, NY 14614 where she was a 40 year supporter.
