Pipkin, Rev. H. W. Walker PhD

Greece, NY: On June 29, 2014, age 74. Predeceased by his wife, The Rev. Arlene Schenk Pipkin. Survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters, Heather Martin, Nancy Pipkin-Hutchinson (Andrew); step-daughter, Cindy Parnell (Ken Barnes); granddaughters, Desiree and Ava Hutchinson and members of the Schenck, Hammaker and Benham families. Walker was a 16th Century Reformation Scholar, publishing numerous books and articles on Anabaptists, most extensively on the reformer Ulrich Zwingli and Balthasar Hubmaier. He taught in the U.S. and abroad, including the Baptist Theological Seminary in Ruschlikon, Switzerland, and served as senior pastor at the Moscow Protestant Chaplaincy, Russian Federation. He holds degrees from Baylor University, the University of Connecticut and Hartford Seminary, and was a Fulbright Scholar. He knew six languages, was a voracious reader and enjoyed the arts, but most dear to his heart was family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 5 at Christ Episcopal Church in Pittsford, 36 South Main Street. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Habitat for Humanity-Woman's Build, 755 Culver Road, Rochester 14609.
