Pittsford: June 27, 2014 at age 92 after a brief illness. A native of Kansas City, MO and long-time resident of East Aurora, she was predeceased by her parents, Gladys C. and Carlton G. Logan; her husband of 62 years, John E. Dickinson; a daughter, Blair (Gordon Fearey, Jr.); her brother, R. Carlton Logan; and a nephew, Christopher P. Logan.
Mrs. Dickinson received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Rochester where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She was an instructor in the History Department of the University of Buffalo for two years. She served for eight years on the Board of Education of East Aurora and was its first woman president. An original member of Aurora Children's Theater, she participated as cast member, stage director, and director, and appeared in two productions of Aurora Players. Community service included membership on the Board of the East Aurora Community Nursery School and the Women's Committees of the Buffalo Museum of Science and Buffalo Goodwill Industries. She was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Dickinson is survived by her son, Dr. John C. Dickinson (Sophie) of Pittsford; daughter, Dr. Brooke D. Durland (Dr. John S. III) of Rochester; and seven grandchildren, Jordan A., Blair E., Lauren A., and Jonathan E. Dickinson, and J. Logan, Spencer L. (Kanika) and Taylor E. Durland.
A Memorial Service and reception will be held Saturday, July 12, 9 AM at Third Presbyterian Church, 4 Meigs St. Donations in memory of Ann may be directed to the Wilmot Cancer Center, c/o Betsy Henner, University of Rochester, Office of Gift and Donor Records, 300 East River Rd., P.O.
