July 11, 1923 to May 19, 2010 . Harry was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peg) and step-son Timothy Espenlaub. Harry is survived by his sister Marilyn Berglund, step-daughter Linda Brookner, step-son Chris Espenlaub, and five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

When as a very young adult, Harry was employed by Pan American Airlines as a radio operator. He flew all over the world and years later wrote several books about his travels using photographs he had taken to illustrate his experiences. He was working on another book prior to his illness. Harry got his private pilots license when he was in his early 60's, never having lost his love for flying.
Harry also became an accomplished photographer of flowers and wildlife. He produced a vast number of beautiful photographs. Harry was a member of the Geriatrics Pilots Association and the New York State Retirees Association.
