Erie, PA: Loving Husband and Son. Brian M. Fish age 47 died on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Millcreek Community Hospital, after a 2 year valiant battle with lung cancer. He was born in Rochester, NY on October 1, 1964 a son of Gary and Kathleen Fish.
Brian graduated from Fairport High School and attended SUNY Morrisville and Edinboro University. He was an exceptional high school and college soccer player, as well as, a two year Empire State Games Competitor. An avid and passionate sports fan, Brian loved the NY Yankees, Montreal Canadiens, Syracuse U Basketball, NY Giants and Manchester United Soccer Club. He was employed as a Sales Rep. at ERT (Electrical Repair Technology) in Erie, and was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club. Brian was a kid at heart, loved people and had a contagious sense of humor!
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Ben Kowalski. In addition to his parents he leaves to cherish his memory his wife Gale Kowalski Fish, three brothers; Bradley (Lee Ann) Fish, Mark (Julie) Fish and Steven (Michelle) Fish, stepchildren; Julie Rial Gaston (Benjamin), James (Jennifer) Rial , grandchildren; Brady and Joshua Gaston, nieces and nephew; Caroline, Anna, Emily, Aidan, Elizabeth, Mary Kate and Bridget Fish, mother-in-law; Dolores Palmer and her friend Jim Wheeler, brother-in-law; Glenn (Lu) Kowalski and his faithful friend, his Yorkie, Teddy Bear.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jan Rothman and all the staff at Erie Regional Cancer Center and Dr. Edward Janus his primary care physician.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. (Corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Sunday from 3 to 7 PM, and are invited to funeral services there on Monday morning at 10:00AM with Rev. Edward Bonner officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Brian's life on Sunday January 22, 2012 at 3:30 PM at the Perinton Presbyterian Church 6511 Pittsford Palmyra Rd.
