Branch, Perry W. Jr.

Scottsdale, AZ: Perry passed away on Saturday, February 2nd at the age of 88. Perry was born in Lincoln, NE on July 23, 1924. He graduated from Lincoln High School and was an Eagle Scout. Perry enlisted in the Army in 1942 serving initially with a tank destroyer unit and later as a radio technician in the South Pacific. At the end of the war, he returned to the University of Nebraska, earned a degree in Chemical Engineering and was recruited by Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. Perry enjoyed the challenge of manufacturing, was instrumental in the development of the Instamatic film cartridge in the late 1950's and retired after 35 years of service. Throughout his career and during his retirement, Perry gave his time and leadership generously to volunteer organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, Rochester's Visiting Nurse Association, the Rochester chapter of Planned Parenthood, as an elder of the Third Presbyterian Church of Rochester, and as a Fellow of the Rochester Institute of Technology. An avid golfer, Perry was a member of The Country Club of Rochester and Arizona Country Club.

Perry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Lou Holtz Branch; his sister Jeanne' Boman of Montgomery, TX, two daughters, Suzanne McGinnis and Sarah Silcox (C.B.) both of Scottsdale; five grandchildren, Charles Perry Silcox (Holly) of Tempe AZ, Jamey Silcox of Peoria, AZ, Sarah Ahrens (Jim) of New Providence, NJ, Meghan DeCell (David) of Katy, TX, and Molly Gaudreau (Dan) of London, UK; and five great-grandchildren, Josie and Corinne Silcox, Alexis and Madeleine DeCell and Teagan Perry Ahrens.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Perry's life at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 9th at Vi @ Grayhawk, 7501 E. Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale, AZ. The service will be followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts be made to the Latta & Perry Branch Memorial Fund of the University of Nebraska Foundation, Lincoln Mall, Suite 300, Lincoln, NE 68508 or Rochester Institute of Technology, 1 Lomb Memorial Drive, Rochester, NY 14623.
