San Diego, CA: Thomas Tachco, 81, recently of San Diego, CA and formerly of Granville, OH, died of complications from congestive heart failure on January 24, 2014.

Tom was born in Rochester, NY on August 1, 1932 to Macedonian immigrant parents Michael and Costandena Tachco. He grew-up on Lyndhurst St. in Rochester and was a graduate of East High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and later attended the University of California, Los Angeles.

Tom met the love of his life, Phyllis Railey, in Hollywood, CA. They were married on December 23, 1958 in Columbia, MO.

Tom's other life's passion was his work as an aerospace engineer for Litton Guidance and Control Systems, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing. He worked on guidance systems for air and space craft from 1961 through 2004. He became a field engineer and took his family on many adventures throughout the world including living in Switzerland and Japan.

Tom is survived by his wife Phyllis; his four children Michael, Anna, Sean and Amy; his six grandchildren Morgan, Brandon, Santana, Benjamin, Chase and Shelby; his beloved sister Mary Tachco of Rochester and brother John Tachco of Canandaigua; his nephews, Bradley and Nicholas (Rachel) Tachco; Four brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and many other nephews and nieces around the country.

Being the consummate scientist, Tom chose to donate his body to the university of California educational system. His family gathered from around the globe for a going-away party held on February 8, 2014 in San Diego, CA.
