She was a delightful and intelligent woman, who never took herself too seriously, but took the work that she did and the impact it had, very seriously. I really admired her!

she was a gracious hostess. i sailed into her dock one summer day in my little sailboat, surprising her. after sharing a sandwich and some wine, we sailed a bit on Keuka Lake. It is a sweet memory. There are so many more great times with Jan that i will cherish. What a gal!
