Carl Henchen Obituary

Henchen, Carl W.

Hilton: March 5, 2016, age 68. Carl passed away from a long fought battle of several chronic illnesses. He is survived by the love of his life of 45 years, wife, Barbara Henchen; children, Cheryl (Ken Kaiser) Bogner, Larry (Mary) Bogner and Mike (Diana) Bogner; siblings, Rose Mary Ruperto, John Henchen; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, Nicole Henchen-Robinson and Jay Henchen, his niece and nephew whom he held close to his heart. Predeceased by parents, Robert (Katherine) Henchen; siblings, George (Judith) Henchen, Edward Henchen, sister-in-law, Mary Henchen, and brother-in-law, Gerry Ruperto. Loving pets, Fluffer, Max, Leo and Bear.

Carl was a wonderful man that would lend a hand in need to his fellow neighbors and served in the Army from 1967-69 in the Vietnam War. Carl worked at Eastman Kodak in Building 12 on the dock when he returned from Vietnam. He had a love for the Pittsburgh Steelers, camping, fishing, and hunting with his brothers. He also enjoyed long rides in his truck with his wife, Barb. We want to give a special thanks to all that the Veteran's Administration has provided us, as well as a special thanks to Hilton Health Care.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday 4-7 at THOMAS E. BURGER FUNERAL HOME, 735 East Ave., Hilton, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Friday. Followed by Interment at Parma Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Veterans Outreach, 447 South Ave., Roch., NY 14620.

Carl, think about you from time to time. You taught me a lot about auto repair and enjoyed hunting and fishing with you. I only smile now but man those were good memories. Good bye my friend. Mike Jodoin.

Carl was a neighbor on Mill Rd, way back when. He was the first soldier I knew from the Vietnam era, and his bravery to serve says so much about who Carl was. He always had a pickup truck and a smile on his face when he was driving by with the wind in his hair. Some of the good ones always seem to go way too soon. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Peaceful dreams Carl...
