Frederick Braitling Fowler, 86, passed away on October 9, 2013 in Midland, TX. Frederick was born on February 14, 1927, to Frederick A. Fowler and Vera Braitling Fowler in New Castle, PA. He and his wife Agnes were married on July 22, 1954. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during WW II as an able seaman. Frederick graduated from Wooster University and completed an advanced degree at the Colorado School of Mines. He was employed as a geophysicist in the petroleum industry throughout his career, and was a lifetime member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He loved family, sailing, dogs, good jokes, horseback riding, and good friends. Frederick is survived by a son, Monty Fowler of Huntington, WV; a daughter, Alisa A. Fowler of Salt Lake City UT; and granddaughters that he loved dearly, Sarah E. Fowler and Elaine N. Fowler. He is predeceased by his wife, Agnes; and both his parents. Family will welcome friends to a viewing on Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 4-6 pm at Ellis Funeral Home, Midland, TX. Services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Midland, TX. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
