Randolph F. Jones

Randolph "Casey" Jones, Founder of The Colorado Choir and former conductor of the Adams State Choir, Alamosa, CO, age 87, passed away February 15, 2013. Born in Erskine, MN, Jones attended Augustana Academy. In 1998, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Augustana College, Sioux Falls. Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, named Jones Outstanding Alumnus in 2000. His master's and doctoral work were at Indiana University. In 1995, Jones was inducted into the Colorado Music Educators Hall of Fame and in 2000 was awarded the Colorado Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts. During his 60 year career his choirs performed over 50 concerts with the Denver Symphony Orchestra, more than 1200 concerts in 26 states and 18 foreign countries as well as 1800 church services. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Loraine Jones, and is survived by four children: Rebecca Jones of Bemidji, MN, Randa Degerness, Nathan Jones and Kirsten Peaslee of Denver, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
