Richard B. Gavend

An unveiling for Richard B. Gavend at the one year anniversary of his death on October 25, 2012 is being held graveside on Sunday Oct 27, 2013 at 11AM at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6841 E 62nd Ave, Commence City, CO 80022. At 1PM a post memorial gathering is being hosted by Eileen Hyatt and Melissa Kaye at 301 Cook Street, Denver, CO 80206. Dick Gavend was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 22, 1936. He served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1961 then attended City College of New York on a GI bill. He graduated the University of Denver Law School in 1963 and practiced law in Denver for nearly 50 years. Dick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He traveled extensively throughout the world and loved fine wine and his bird dogs. He is survived by his children, Dr. Melissa Kaye and Lt. Col David Rosner, his twin grandchildren, Bria and Jackson, his former wives, Nancy and Cathy, his long-term girlfriend, Bev, and his large group of eclectic and devoted friends.
